Biography
Alex Ong is a Principal Lawyer in Coleman Greig’s Commercial Services Team.
Alex specialises in corporate law, with particular expertise in the financial services and energy sectors.
He has over 20 years’ experience in legal, compliance, and governance leadership across financial institutions, regulators and professional services firms.
Alex has extensive experience in corporate, commercial and regulatory law, having worked as General Counsel and Head of Risk for financial services companies and in the renewable energy sector.
He has advised on and built governance, risk and compliance (GRC) programs for organisations across a range of different industries and assists clients with fit-for-purpose GRC frameworks that align with their regulatory environment.
Alex provides clients with practical and insightful advice on legal requirements, compliance and reporting.

- Designed improvements to the conduct risk framework for a large superannuation fund
- Advised on the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements and Operational & Maintenance contracts
