Internal promotions at Coleman Greig Lawyers

Coleman Greig Lawyers is thrilled to announce the promotion of six talented and dedicated members of the Firm. The promotions are effective as of 1 July 2023.

Andrea Galloway, Coleman Greig’s CEO, said, “These appointments reflect the diversified, talented, and inspirational people we have at Coleman Greig. Their contribution to the legal profession and the Firm is respected and admired.

Elevated to Principal Lawyer were Ben Johnson from the firm’s Commercial Disputes practice; and Karina Penfold and Lisa Barca from Wills and Estates. Patrick Huang from our Tax Practice has been promoted to Special Counsel and our new Senior Associates are James Ferguson from Litigation & Disputes Resolution, and Madison Kelly from Family Law.

Principal Lawyer Appointments

Ben Johnson

We congratulate Ben Johnson on his promotion to Principal Lawyer. Ben has more than 15 years’ experience as a lawyer and works in our Commercial Disputes Practice with specialty in construction law and strata law. His calm and practical approach allows him to provide both individual and commercial clients with clear and straightforward advice to resolve disputes.

Karina Penfold

We congratulate Katrina Penfold on her promotion to Principal Lawyer.  Karina co-leads the Firm’s Wills & Estates practice and has extensive experience across estate planning and administration, contested estates, and elder law and abuse. She is compassionate and driven to achieving the best outcome for her clients. Recently she was named Best Wills & Estate Planning Specialist (New South Wales) in the 2023 Retirement Planning Awards.

Lisa Barca

We congratulate Lisa Barca on her promotion to Principal Lawyer. Lisa co-leads the firm’s Wills & Estates practice and is a highly knowledgeable, and multi-award-winning lawyer. She controls matters involving family provision claims, enduring powers of attorney and appointments of enduring guardianship. Lisa understands the complexities which are often associated with the distribution of a client’s estate and combines her strong mindfulness with a sensitive approach.

Special Counsel Appointment

Patrick Huang

We congratulate Patrick Huang on his promotion to Special Counsel. Patrick is a specialist lawyer within the firm’s Taxation Advice practice. He has extensive experience in commercial and corporate governance, asset protection, tax and business structuring, business succession planning, expatriate taxes and employment taxes. Patrick is considerate in approach and always seeks to simplify the legal process for his clients in a logical and thoughtful manner.

Senior Associate Appointments

James Ferguson

We congratulate James Ferguson on his promotion to Senior Associate. James works within our Litigation & Disputes Resolution practice. He regularly advises a wide range of clients – including companies, individuals, insolvency practitioners, strata managers and government agencies. He understands the commercial realities facing businesses and is sensible in approach so as to achieve successful commercial outcomes for his clients.

Madison Kelly

We congratulate Madison Kelly on her promotion to Senior Associate. Madison is a family law practitioner and brings warmth and pragmatism to her practice. She is skilled in both parenting and property matters and adept at identifying key issues early. Her approach ensures that matters are progressed or resolved without further impacting what is already a challenging time for many clients.
