Coleman Greig appoints Alexander Ong as Principal Lawyer – Commercial Services

Coleman Greig Lawyers is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander Ong as Principal Lawyer in the firm’s Commercial Services team, effective 8 April 2026.

Alex is a highly experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in financial services and the energy sector. He has held senior legal, risk and compliance roles across financial institutions, regulatory bodies and professional services firms, including positions as General Counsel and Head of Risk.

“I’m very pleased to be joining Coleman Greig and its Commercial Services team,” said Alexander Ong, Principal Lawyer. “The firm has a strong reputation for providing commercially grounded advice, and I look forward to working closely with clients to help them navigate regulatory complexity and achieve their business objectives.”

Alex has extensive experience advising on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, with particular expertise in governance, risk and compliance (GRC). He has worked closely with boards and executive teams to design and implement fit-for-purpose frameworks, respond to regulatory change, and work through complex conduct and compliance issues across a range of industries.

“Alex brings a wealth of experience across corporate, regulatory and risk advisory,” said Ashley Lamb, CEO of Coleman Greig. “His background in financial services and energy, together with his in-house leadership experience, further strengthens our commercial service offering and supports our clients as they deal with an increasingly complex regulatory environment.”

Alex holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Sydney.

Coleman Greig’s Commercial Services team advises a broad range of clients, including private businesses, multinational subsidiaries and high-net-worth individuals, on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters. The team is known for delivering commercially-focused advice that is practical and supports clients at all stages of their business lifecycle.
