Coleman Greig Lawyers is pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond Byrne as Principal Lawyer and Team Leader of its Family Law team, effective 5 May 2026.
Raymond is a highly experienced family lawyer with over a decade of legal practice, complemented by more than 30 years of business and customer service experience. He has a strong track record in advising clients on complex family law matters, including parenting and property disputes, and focuses on guiding clients through difficult situations.
“Family law matters are often some of the most challenging a client will face. I’m looking forward to joining Coleman Greig and supporting clients to work through those issues and reach the best possible outcome,” said Raymond Byrne, Principal Lawyer.
Ray began his career at a Queensland firm while based in Sydney, commuting weekly before returning to Sydney to help build the firm’s presence. During this time, he also supervised the national Family Law team.
He is a strong advocate for Alternative Dispute Resolution and prioritises negotiated outcomes wherever possible, while remaining a strong and determined advocate when court proceedings are necessary. Ray has appeared across family, criminal and civil jurisdictions, with particular strength in advocacy and cross-examination, further supported by early experience clerking for a barrister during his studies.
“Ray’s leadership experience and strong advocacy skills make him an excellent addition to our Family Law team,” said Ashley Lamb, CEO of Coleman Greig. “His commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients, combined with his considered approach to resolving disputes, aligns strongly with our client-first philosophy.”
Ray holds a Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws (Applied Family Law), and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He is a member of the Law Society of NSW and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Coleman Greig’s Family Law team advises individuals and families on a wide range of matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements and complex disputes. The team is known for keeping advice clear and focused, and for guiding clients through what are often highly personal matters.
