Victoria Quayle

Biography

Victoria is a Senior Associate within Coleman Greig’s Employment Law team.

Victoria has over 12 years’ experience in employment and commercial litigation.

She has the skills to assist businesses to minimise their legal risks by identifying them early and being able to help them up to the resolution of the dispute.

Victoria has a broad range of Employment Law & WHS experience, with dealings of employment terminations, unfair dismissal and general protections claims, restructuring and redundancies, and Fair Work Ombudsman investigations to name a few.

She advises on, and conducts, all employment-related litigation in the Fair Work Commission and other Federal and NSW jurisdictions.

Victoria works with clients from a range of industries and sectors such as building and construction, retail, manufacturing, aged care providers, healthcare and medical devices. She also regularly provides advice to foreign owned Australian subsidiaries to assist with local requirements.

Working closely with her clients allows Victoria to gain more of an understanding of their specific commercial objectives and provide tailored advice, with an understanding of how urgent employment matters can be in practice.

  • Advising on termination of a long-standing senior executive without an employment contract and successfully negotiating exit terms with reasonable notice period.
  • Assisting an Australian subsidiary of a large international company with restructuring a senior team and proposed redundancies including attending and providing support to Management during risk consultation and termination of employment meetings.
  • Successfully resolving a complex general protections claim and discrimination and sexual harassment claim lodged by an employee in Federal Circuit Court and Australian Human Rights Commission. Provided support to executive management from the original termination of employee, defended Fair Work Commission proceedings and AHRC complaint, then Federal Circuit Court proceedings where matter resolved.
