Biography

Dylan Anderson is a Lawyer in Coleman Greig’s Dispute Resolution & Employment Solutions team.  He specialises in Employment and Industrial Relations Law.

Dylan has an in depth understanding of the Fair Work Commission and Federal Court proceedings, being involved in numerous complex matters in these jurisdictions.  Dylan’s commercial mindset enables him to assess the best path forward by considering not only the relevant legal principles, but also the commercial viability and financial impact of any proposed course of action.

His clients range from small businesses to large multinational entities, and span various industries including manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, building and retail.  He assists these clients with a wide array of employment law and WHS experience, regularly advising and assisting with complex terminations, unfair dismissal and general protections claims, restructuring and redundancies.  Dylan frequently provides award advice regarding coverage and classification for an employer’s workforce.  Further, he has experience advising on complicated matters involving statutory interpretation and providing practical guidance on relevant implications to clients.

Results driven, Dylan strives to obtain the best possible outcomes for all his clients in all circumstances. This, combined with his strong relationships with clients, ensures he provides advice that’s tailored to their unique circumstances.

  • Varied practice area, from assisting with defending and preparing unfair dismissal and general protection applications in the Fair Work Commission, to advising on workplace policies and drafting employment contracts.
  • A strong understanding of industry and occupational awards, including advising clients on award coverage, entitlements, and compliance.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and amending a wide variety of employment contracts and workplace policies.
  • Experience assisting with restraint of trade and breach of confidentiality matters, including corresponding with clients to set expectations while achieving successful outcomes.
  • Assisted with preparing a response to an unfair dismissal application, including correspondence with the client, advising on processes, and obtaining relevant information.
  • Assisted with drafting a response to a general protections application, including liaising with the client to discuss the matter, and determining all relevant facts for the response.
  • Advised a multinational pharmaceutical company on Australian policies, including assisting with preparing a wide range of employment policies, and drafting many from scratch.
  • Drafted a letter of demand and undertakings relating to a breach of confidentiality claim against a former employee. The undertakings were successfully received, and the client was very happy with the outcome.
