Biography

Victoria is a Senior Associate within Coleman Greig’s Employment Law team.

With almost 15 years’ experience in employment and commercial litigation, Victoria has the skills to assist businesses to minimise their legal risks by identifying and managing them early.

She has a broad range of Employment Law & WHS experience, regularly assisting with complex terminations, unfair dismissal and general protections claims and restructuring and redundancies. Victoria regularly provides immediate risk management advice on disciplinary and termination processes.

Victoria advises on, and conducts, all employment-related litigation in the Fair Work Commission and other Federal and NSW jurisdictions.

She works with clients from a range of industries and sectors such as building and construction, retail, manufacturing, aged care providers, healthcare and medical devices. Victoria also regularly provides advice to foreign owned Australian subsidiaries to assist with local requirements.

Working closely with her clients allows Victoria to gain more of an understanding of their specific commercial objectives and culture so she can provide tailored advice, Victoria enjoys working closely with HR and management and collaborating with them to achieve outcomes in line with their specific objectives and priorities. Victoria also has a practical approach and understands how urgent employment matters can be in practice

  • Advising on complex termination of employment issues and negotiating mutual separation or assisting with allegations of breach of employment obligations.
  • Workplace restructuring and redundancy.
  • Conducting employment related litigation including enforcing post-employment obligations and discrimination claims.
  • Defending Fair Work Commission matters including unfair dismissal, general protections, anti-bullying and sexual harassment disputes.
  • Conducting workplace training on a range of employment law issues.
  • Conducting or advising on workplace investigations, managing complaints and grievances.
  • Independent contracting arrangements and advising on sham contracting provisions.
  • Advising on employee entitlements and interpretation of modern awards.
  • Advising on industrial relations issues including enterprise bargaining and approval processes.
  • Fair Work Ombudsman investigations and enforcement proceedings.
  • Drafting employment contracts, policies, restraint and confidentiality agreements.
