Grace Hamilton
Biography
Hailing from a farm in Panuara, Country NSW, Grace Hamilton started playing Rugby on a University exchange in the USA. Growing up around Rugby with her family, Hamilton excelled in netball and athletics in regional NSW. Joining the Sydney University women’s team in 2014, Hamilton was one of their consistent performers, and subsequently sought higher honours in both the 7s and XVs format of the game.
Making her Wallaroo’s debut against New Zealand in 2016, Hamilton continued into the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland where she was a standout player. Rated by World Rugby as one of the top players in the number 8 jersey, with an astounding 65 carries over the gain line alongside 97 runs, Hamilton outranked many of her rivals in her first Women’s Rugby World Cup.
An ever-present member of the victorious NSW Waratahs Super W squad in 2018, Hamilton continued to shine, again earning herself selection in the 2018 Wallaroo’s squad, where she continued to be a member of the starting XV in the number 8 jersey.
