Reconciliation

Our firm

Reconciliation

In the spirit of reconciliation Coleman Greig Lawyers acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.

We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Coleman Greig acknowledges the past, recognises the present and looks forward to contributing to a brighter future.

Aboriginal Action Plan

In November 2020, Coleman Greig launched its first Aboriginal Action Plan. This Plan formally documents our commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It forms a core component of our business plan and corporate responsibility efforts.

Our actions are guided by Four Pillars: Showing Respect, Building Relationships, Creating Opportunities and Giving Back. A dedicated working group oversees implementation of the Plan.

Impact Partnership with NSWICC

We became an Impact Partner of the New South Wales Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (NSWICC) in early 2021. By working together, we seek to maximise economic and social outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities through economic participation. Our partnership includes the provision of pro bono legal services and professional development for Aboriginal-owned businesses across NSW.

Pro Bono

Coleman Greig has commenced pro bono services for Aboriginal owned businesses in a wide range of industries and sectors across NSW.

Employment opportunities

We have committed to creating opportunities for people who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders across all areas of the firm.  From 2021, with Western Sydney University, we have offered a Legal Cadetship opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identifying student. We believe that it is crucial to lead and create equal employment opportunities that will foster and nurture a more diverse culture and ensure we continue to understand and serve our local communities.
