Coleman Greig Lawyers is pleased to be hosting a CLE seminar for solicitors in the Western and North Western Sydney region.

Conveniently located at our offices in Parramatta, this seminar will provide 4 CPD units and will cover the following topics:

Presented by Professor Michael Adams, Special Counsel

This session will focus on the latest developments in corporate governance under legislation and case law. One of the key factors has been the impact of reputational damage of CEO misconduct and maintaining corporate social responsibility. It will also touch on the inter-connection of compliance, due diligence and corporate governance.

Presented by Rita Khodeir, Senior Associate and Trade Marks Attorney

In recent years, businesses have developed a greater focus on both brand and reputation protection, especially in the digital world. Rita will discuss how proper registration of trade marks and social media management will enhance brand and IP protection. She will also discuss issues and remedies for trade mark infringements or dilution.

Presented by Dominic Russell, Senior Associate

Discussion on this topic will be around the emerging trends in the laws of restraint including the enforceability under the Restraints of Trade Act 1976 (NSW), and the application of the Act. The session will also cover the impact of developments in information technology – in particular, cloud storage systems, where there is misappropriation of sensitive company data. It will also expose ways in which to protect your client’s business interests contractually, or otherwise.

Presented by Andrew Grima, Principal

This session will cover a range of issues including make good (drafting to minimise disputes, negotiating and settling disputes), market reviews and options to renew (commercial leases vs Retail Leases Act), FIRB and Agreements for Lease, managing the risk of timing around relocation, and key provisions of Retail Leases Act.

There will also be a short session on changes to Federal Court and NSW Court Practice Notes presented by Caroline Hutchinson, Accredited Specialist, Commercial Litigation.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to earn CPD points without having to travel to the city.
