Biography

Malcolm Gittoes-Caesar is a Principal Lawyer and Accredited Specialist within Coleman Greig’s Family Law Team.

Malcolm has two decades of expertise in complex parenting matters, property matters for high net-worth individuals and has significant experience in drafting Binding Financial Agreements and Child Support Agreements.

He is also an Accredited Family Law Mediator and Arbitrator.

Well-known in the media, he has featured on the SBS program “Insight” and Money Magazine in relation to Binding Financial Agreements.

Malcolm has experience dealing with criminal and AVO matters, and acts as a solicitor advocate in relation to those matters, as well as interim and final hearings in the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

As a Nationally Accredited Family Law Mediator and Arbitrator, Malcolm works at all times to resolve disputes without the need for court however if litigation is unavoidable, Malcolm is a highly experienced across all jurisdictions, and is well respected by both the judiciary and other members of the legal profession.

Malcolm has been a member of the Law Society of NSW’s Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee for Family Law for the past 4 years, and is the Director responsible for Personal Services at Coleman Greig.

Malcolm has lectured as a casual academic at The University of Sydney and Western Sydney University and is a regular provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) to the Legal Profession on a number of different topics, and for various CLE providers, including UNSW, the Law Society of NSW, the College Of Law, Television Education Network, Legalwise and Bench TV.

Also known as a passionate advocate for mental health, mentoring and work/life balance, Malcolm has appeared in numerous articles in the Law Society Journal and the Sydney Morning Herald in relation to these issues, as well as speaking at various events. Malcolm is a big believer in equipping and mentoring the next generation of up and coming lawyers and achieves this through the Coleman Greig Cadetship program. Many members of his team have won various awards and accolades.
