Coleman Greig Virtual Challenge raises over $100,000 for children with special needs and newborn care

Greater Western Sydney businesses and the local community rallied together and raised over $100,000 last week through the Coleman Greig Virtual Challenge to support Westmead Hospital Foundation and St Gabriel’s School, Castle Hill.

Challenge founder and property lawyer Andrew Grima said “We are really proud to have been able to work with so many businesses to help our charity partners give some special children the best health and educational opportunities possible. The CG Challenge enables businesses to come together and make a real difference.”

Usually an annual event race day, this year’s participants had the entire week (Friday 18 – Friday 25 September) to run, ride or walk and complete their personal and team goals, whilst raising much needed funds for these great causes.

“Going virtual has had its benefits – for the first time in Challenge history, two international firms – Irwin Mitchell in the UK and Tompkins Wake in New Zealand were able to register teams and participate virtually from thousands of miles away,” said Andrew.

This year’s teams included businesses large and small – from St. George Bank, ResMed and Lexus/Toyota to a variety of local businesses.

“The Challenge is a cumulative effort and the power of many people banding together and making a difference in the lives of children with special needs and newborn care. We feel grateful for the generosity of people but also to all the hard work the charities do in the community,” said Andrew .

Westmead Hospital Foundation will purchase BiliSoft machinery for babies who are born with jaundice enabling mothers to take their babies home with them sooner.

St Gabriel’s School will be using donations to help deliver their educational programs. Your support will assist in funding much-needed Science and Food Technology resources for their newly developed Secondary School program.

There is still time to make a secure donation until the 31 October and check out our Photo Gallery from this year’s event here.
